HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTIONS
At every collection, in every part of the state,
paint is the most common material delivered. Today's latex (water-based) paint has a very low level of toxicity. Therefore,
the Illinois EPA encourages people with unwanted latex paint to use other options.
You can bring
it to the Woodridge Greene Valley Wastewater Treatment Plant 7900 Rt 53, Woodridge, IL (630) 985-7400 Drop Off Usable
Latex Paint starting June 2nd through August 15th - Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the following Saturdays:
June 14th, June 28th, July 12th, July 26th & August 9th
Latex paint can also be dried with cat litter, oil dry, sawdust or another absorbent material. Once
the paint is dried, it can be put out with regular garbage. Make sure to leave the the lid off so the driver can see
that the paint has been dried.
